Potassium Sorbate - Home Remedy for Yeast infection
Widely known for its ability to stop the growth of yeast, the potassium sorbate has been used popularly as a preservative in all kinds of foods. Also, potassium sorbate is what helps to brew the beer by stopping the growth of yeast at the correct time. Using this same thing to help check the yeast growth within your vagina is a great idea.
You can simply do this by soaking a cotton piece in potassium sorbate and then keeping it inside your vagina overnight. Continue this treatment for some days till the signs of infection have completely gone away. To prepare the solution, you need to mix 8 gm or around 1 tablespoon of potassium sorbate with 1 cup of water. You can easily get this at home-brewing supplies or at some natural food store as well.
For better results, you can soak the tampon in the potassium sorbate and then insert it into the vagina. However, once the tampon is soaked, it gets inflated and hence would be difficult to insert within your vagina. A better way to do this is to insert the tampon into your vagina first and then squirt a bit of the potassium sorbate solution into your opening using a syringe without a needle. This way you can help the tampon soak up the solution after it has been inserted.
